Documents on the SS-Einsatzkommando in Tunis during the WWII

 

The documents are taken from the Bundesarchiv-Milit?rarchiv in Freiburg - BA-MA Freiburg Research Arabia( RH 21-25).
 
P. 2: The arabic crowd shouted 'Heil Hitler' when the German soldiers entered Tunis.
P. 3: Reported that integration of Tunisian Arabs in the German forces has benn failed.
P. 24: Reported that the Commander of the SS-Einsatzkommando (Walter Rauff) has arrived with the unit to Tunis.
The arabic crowd applauded to the forces.
A list of untrustworthy french people has been madeby the SS-Einsatzcommando.
 
P. 6: A meeting considering cooperation witht the arabic population has been made.
 
P. 9: Reported that Rauff and Rahn and other officers decided on the recruitment of Tunisian Jewish Men for Unfree Labour.
 
P. 13: Arabic sources announce that Jews taking part in patrol troops, presenting themselves as Arabs.
 
P. 17: A propaganda leaflet with Fatma-hand: a quotation from the Kuran that the Jews and the moneylender take honestly the property of the others. The Englands and the Americans are operating due to Jewish intiative.
 
P. 19: A report on a proposal for reinforcement of the Einsatzkomanndo, which was approved in Berlin.
 
P. 24: A propoganda leaflet claiming that the Englands helped Jews to control Arabs, letting them to rebuild the Salomon tample in Jerusalem. It is claimed that the Englands abolished the race laws against the Jews. For this reason, the Arabs should free themself and fight against the Americans, the Englands and the Jews
