From a collection of photographs taken by journalist Amos Gordon in the Jewish community of troglodytes Jews in Gharian, Libya. The Jews of Gharian lived for hundreds of years in underground caves in three communities about 100 kilometers south of the city of Tripoli. In the caves the Jews tried to defend themselves from their hostile neighbors and during the Second World War The Jews of Gharyan sheltered for Jews who fled from other cities and villages in Libya.
