The documents complied in this volume are the surviving record of General Rommel’s wartime maneuvers and intentions. He destroyed most of his papers after being suspected of complicity in the July 20 plot. Many of the preserved papers in this file are candid letters from Rommel to his wife. The chapter attached here consists of papers associated with Tunisia and the failing German war effort there
