The US Jewish Congress has called for the "swift and effective fulfillment of President Roosevelt's historic declaration." In a resolution, Congress hailed the president for "his formal assurance of opening Palestine to unlimited immigration and settlement" and for "helping to establish a free Palestine as a Jewish and democratic commonwealth" . Congress passed another resolution calling on the United Nations to "save Jews from imminent death in ghettos, concentration camps and forced labor ..." and calls on them to "recognize a representation. Jewish in order to deal with the problems of relief and post-war reconstruction ".
