Letter from the Ministry of Interior of the Vichy regime Maurice Sabatier to all the prefects in French departements that intend to clarify the third paragraph of the anti-Jewish law of June 2nd, 1941. According to the new legislation, Jews should be banned from public administrations and from companies that were partly or entierly funded by the State. A copy of this letter was sent to the engineer in chief of the Constantine department.

The General Governor decides that all the young Jewish people considered as wards of state and working in the air force should stay in office, even if they exceeded the age of 18. Moreover, he addresses the specific case of Mrs. Diot, which is also known from other documents found in the Constantine archives.
