Description
This document states that according to the terms of Article 5 of the law of October 7, 1940, the political status of French citizenship can be retained by Algerian Jews “distinguished by services rendered to the country.” This law does not require “the circumstance of exceptional services,” unlike the case for Jews who request an exemption from the status of Jews (Article 8 of the law of June 2, 1941).
Arfi was a municipal councilor in El-Kseur. Achour was a municipal councilor in M’Sila.
