Page 13: Short letter from Kassman to mother dated March 5, 1941. Some « very tense moments on our gun-site nowadays » and they are prepared for potential visits from Colonels, Brigadiers, and Generals (notably in cleanliness of their site). Mentions windy March weather. Short trip today « in connection with our tradesman’s occupation. » Kassman is to cook for the party.
Telegram to mother, presumably from Henry (signed ‘Kassman’), dated March 8, 1941, addressed to Kassman in London. Message: « Many happy returns both fit deepest love. » (Note: « EFM » is typed before « Kassman », which gives the impression that these are initials. In fact, EFM stands for « Expeditionary Forces Message » – this was an EFM telegram. The letters « EFM » appear near the telegram’s text – in at least one format of the EFM telegrams, it is positioned immediately before the addressee, on the same line as the name.)
One page, typed. Dated March 5-8, 1941.
