Report of June 28, 1936 – The Committee reports to the Prefect, with numerous details, an anti-Semitic incident, the provocations by members of the Croix de Feu towards a group of Israelites with child and ש baby sitting on benches. Rumors of the assault spread throughout the city, and the police intervened, chasing down Popular Front supporters. A police commissioner is said to have said: « if it continues we will send them Arabs », which provokes indignation among the members of the Popular Front, who inform the Prefect of the sending of a telegram to the Ministry of the Interior. : « Violent anti-Semitic incidents provoked on June 27 by Croix de feu. We ask for immediate intervention to prevent more serious events ».
