Description

Years 1935-1936. The reports of the Central Police Station are indicative of the close surveillance, including political and religious, that groups or individuals are subject to in the Province of Constantine. It ranges from the fiercely anti-semitic rant of Muslims towards the Israelites to the gossip spread by some people towards others. The return of pilgrims from Mecca is strictly controlled. Political leaflets are sent to the Prefect for information.
