Description

This interview, conducted as part of a journalistic investigation on the situation in Algeria, aims to prove that there are still local people loyal to the French imperialism.

Le Matin is a French daily newspaper created in 1883 and disappeared in 1944.

During the 1930s, his editorial line went to the extreme right, becoming a collaborationist under Vichy. He was banned from publication at the Liberation.

In February 1930, the newspaper published an investigation into the Algerian malaise from which this article is drawn.

This article, which follows the interview of Dr. Bendjelloul, published the day before in the newspaper, aims to compare the two doctors: Bendjelloul the agitator and Tamzali the moderate.

Dr. Tamzali’s vision is therefore to trust the French administration, whose he sees management failures , to restore a climate of trust between Europeans and locals. This approach is very different from that of Dr. Bendjelloul, who without completely rejecting the political authority of France, works for the development of an Algerian nationalism.
