Description

The law of October 7, 1940, repeals the Crémieux Decree and provides for only two derogations: in favour of veterans decorated with the Legion of Honor, the Military Medal and the Croix de Guerre; for those who have rendered service to the country.

These provisions were repealed by the law of February 18, 1942, which created the following exemptions: in favour of Jews who have not incurred any conviction and who meet one of the following conditions: holder of a combat card citation with war cross, Legion of Honour, Military Medal for an act of war, pupil of the Nation, widow or orphan of a Jew who died in the War; שמג also in favour of Jews who by them or their families have been distinguished for services rendered.

This document explains the procedures for noting the right of the Jew to remain a citizen and requesting the reinstatement of the Jews.
