Description

This report flags possible anti-Semitic unrest scheduled for Monday, March 23. The Center for Information and Studies of Constantine emphasizes that there is no slogan circulating in the city whose aim would be to organize disturbances or massacres among the Jewish population. There is indeed a wave of anti-Semitism in the Muslim population. The cause would be the massive closure of about thirty cafes run by Jews who are not French citizens. However, the Muslim crowd was also pleased with the measures taken against the Jews. The latter are very worried and will do everything to avoid provocations. The Center for Information and Studies in Constantine has passed on the following slogan in Muslim circles: “Current anti-Semitism must be state anti-Semitism, but can in no case include a mass movement.
