The Intransigeant is a French daily newspaper, founded in Paris in 1880 and disappeared in 1948. Left opposition newspaper initially, its editorial line quickly evolves towards an extreme nationalism, leading it in 1898, to take part in the concert of the antisemitic press hostile to Dreyfus.
The article is the report of a special correspondent of the newspaper in Algeria describing the political, economic and social situation of Algeria.
