Description

June 13, 1942 – The Minister of the Interior writes to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to remind him that at the request of the Resident General in Rabat, the order was given to the Prefects of the two zones « to refuse the entry visa to Morocco to the European wives and concubines of repatriated Moroccans, as well as to the children born of these mixed unions. A single exception is provided for […] in favor of Jewish or Muslim women born in North Africa, who can be assimilated to Moroccans and repatriated without prior formality with the Moroccan head of the family and his children ».

He would like an exception to be made for a Moroccan subject, lieutenant in the 4th Moroccan Spahis regiment […] whose father would be caïd and would have an important situation of fortune, who wishes to return to Morocco with his wife and son of French nationality “.

June 22, 1942 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs transmits the above letter to the Resident General in Rabat, informs him of another case of a Moroccan doctor of pharmacy whose father is a teacher, and his woman of Belgian nationality, and asks him « to kindly examine the two cases in question with kindness » and to inform him of his decision.

July 17, 1942 – The Resident General responds to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to inform him that visa authorizations have been granted to the two Moroccans concerned.
