Description
Report dated August 12, 1936. It indicates that leaflets in Arabic « calling for calm » from the President of the Federation of Elected Muslims « have been distributed in town in Moorish cafes and in the market ». The leaflet, as well as a translation in french, « which appeared in the Dépêche de Constantine on August 1st and 9th », are attached to the report.
The translation, dated August 9, is an « Appeal to Muslims » by Dr BENDJELLOUL who preaches for good understanding and unity among all French people, Christians, Muslims and Israelites.
