Description

This report describes the propaganda of Jewish circles among the natives in several parts of the department. This propaganda tends to demonstrate to the natives that the French Government is bullying the Jews by repealing the Crémieux decree. According to the report, the Jews would address the Muslims by telling them “that their everything will come soon where they themselves will be bullied by a government from which they have little to hope for […]”. The Jews say “that the salvation of France and the Algerian populations will be found not with the government of Marshal Pétain but alongside General De Gaulle”.
