Description
This document concerns the registration on the recruitment lists of young Israelites from Sidi-Bel-Abbès that the mayor of this city had not identified because he considers them as native French subjects and not as French citizens.
Vallat declares during his intervention during the Review Board: the non-compliance of an additional census table with the provisions of the decree which fixes the closure of the census operations, the young people present have not shown proof of their nationality unlike “the mayor of Bel-Abbès who submitted official documents (birth register)”.
