Description
This letter from the prefect of Algiers specifies that Mohammed El Madi, arrested in Paris, is not known in Algiers. He would be the son of a caïd from the region of Guelma (department of Constantine). According to the information received, “he did not exercise any propaganda in the department of Algiers”.
Hamani Amar arrested at the same time as El Madi would have proposed to Rachid Kalafat to found a section of French Algeria. The latter collaborated with the newspaper “L’Echo de la presse Moslem”.
