This report gives an overview of April 1948 on political activity in Constantine and on the many external events which interest Muslim circles.

The passage to Constantine of the Chief Rabbi of France gave rise to many comments in Muslim circles. The elections of the Department’s 4 delegates from the Jewish communities to the World Jewish Congress in Montreux take place on April 18. Among the delegates is Mr. André Bakouche, who is a member of the Algerian Assembly for the 1st constituency of the 1st College of the department of Constantine.

The Ulema newspaper follows closely the events in Palestine and continues its attacks on the Zionists.
