Description

Letter of the German Consulate in Tétouan (Tetuan), authored by the consul Mr. Brosch, to the German Embassy in Madrid, relating that the German shipping company “Norddeutscher Lloyd” and their business partner A. Renschhausen & Co. prefer French-Moroccan or French-dominated ports for their cruise trips, especially the port of Tangier (Tanger). The German consulate in Tétouan complains about this business practice and about local French newspapers’ expression of gratitude because at the same time the French local press promotes hatred toward German citizens and French authorities dsicriminate against Germans. According to Brosch’s letter, A. Renschhausen himself has been subject to such discrimination when, without giving reasons, the authorities denied him admission to enter French Morocco, even though he is the German consul of Larache.
