Description of meeting with Jewish soldier in the Polish Forces – goes over his history from 1939 (captured by Russians, escaped from the far north, traveled through Russia to Turkey with no money. “Like all the Poles, he is entirely without knowledge of his family and has little likelihood of renewing his ties”). Gift from Hampstead Synagogue: 120 cigarettes [same gift last year – see letter from 26/12/1941, pdf 4 pages 10-11].
