Description

In his letter to Pierre Laval, Emile Morinaud quotes “the abominable Crémieux decree” which was repealed, to “the unanimous joy of all non-Jews”. Morinaud is indignant at the new decree which restores the status of French citizens to several categories of Jews, including those with combat cards, ascendants and orphans of Jews who fell on the battlefields. He asks for an emergency rectification of this decree, specifying that “the Jews were only lamentable fighters, apart from those who deserved the Legion of Honor and the Military Medal”.
