Description

This report mainly analyzes the possible origins and causes of these anti-Semitic incidents:

1/ LFC leaflets reproducing certain words of the Marshal were affixed only to the doors of Jewish stores, following an error.

2/ Two recently naturalized Gilbert Pallaï and Alfred Mattasoglio made tendentious remarks.

3/ Bachagha Benchenouf’s speech during the “Vigil of the Youth of the Empire”, “a thinly veiled call to revolt against Judaism”.

4/ “The excessive satisfaction shown by the Jewish element in Khenchela as everywhere else at the announcement of the British successes in Syria”.
