Rapport sur l’enseignement dans les écoles juives, Alger, 2 avril 1942
Description
This report is a copy of a letter from Ms. Clairette sent to Ms. Temime about teaching in Jewish schools, and more particularly about the introduction of secularism in these new Jewish schools. This document reveals several pieces of information:
1. The religious party prevailed and the teaching of Hebrew was introduced in the schools, except in Oran, where the schools are secular.
2. In Algeria, a general commission for Jewish private education will be created, made up of two General Delegates.
3. To counterbalance the influence of Mr. Brunschwig, we are looking for a person who would agree to present himself as a delegate for the department of Constantine.
