Note sur l’état d’esprit des réservistes mobilisés, Alger, 9 décembre 1942
Description
This report indicates information on:
1. The majority of reservists of all faiths joined their assigned corps without enthusiasm.
2. Propaganda seems to have played a determining role in the reserved attitude of the native reservists towards the events. The indigenous reservists already incorporated continue to “sulk against mobilization” and do not encourage their co-religionists to mobilize.
3. The mobilized Jews believe that the fact of serving will allow them to be considered definitively as French citizens, thus escaping the restrictions which affect the Jewish community.
