Description
Several pieces of information were reported to the commander of the Port-Say Brigade on May 10, 1940 :
1. A troop of Italian soldiers estimated at 200 men camped at Cap de l’Eau, near the sea, in front of works built by the Spaniards. These defense works would contain pieces of artillery. The soldiers would have asked for supplies.
2. Seven planes of unknown nationality, coming from the West flew over Cap de l’Eau. They frightened the population, and Spanish soldiers were sent to the scene to calm the inhabitants.
