The Israelite community of Algiers was interested in knowing if the Italian Navigation Company would accept the passage titles of the German travelers who went down to Algiers. She got an affirmative answer. Community leaders suggest that the Italian Company agree to arrange a stopover in Algiers to allow refugees to embark there directly. This gesture would have an international impact and could be carried out through the Italian Consul.
