Note adressée au Directeur de la Sécurité Générale au sujet de M. Medmouni, 15 mars 1941
Description
It is pointed out in this report that a certain Medmouni; said “the Jew Youcef”, residing at Maison-Carrée, would have been behind the incidents which occurred on January 25, 1941. On this date, the indigenous populations gave signs of discontent: soldiers mutinied in the district of Maison- Square in Algiers. The Jew Youcef would grant loans on pledge or on pension books to the native ex-combatants over whom he would thus acquire influence. He would be clearly anti-French, and this information should be investigated.
