Several people speak at the constitutive congress of the Algerian Federation of LICA, under the chairmanship of Bernard Lecache. This recalls the goals of the LICA and praises Dr Aboulker, “a symbol of action against anti-Semitic persecutions”. Even if LICA is not a political organization, it must take a stand because anti-Semitism must be fought in all its aspects: political, economic, social. The work consists in educating the Jews as the non-Jews, in developing in all the sense of human dignity. This work of understanding of the races “must be extended to Muslims, who are still regarded by too many Christians as inferior men”. Lecache proposes to the Algerian Federation of LICA to demand the dissolution of the “Latin Unions”, to centralize information on anti-Semitic facts and to fight against the causes of anti-Semitism, of which the Jews are sometimes at the origin. The LICA proposes to continue the abolition of the ghetto, the reform of old-fashioned customs and the costume of the Jews …
