November 21, 1936, Departmental Security Intendant, Bône – The report indicates that a theatrical performance given on November 18 and 19 at the Municipal Theater by the Egyptian troupe BEBA AZZEDINE brought together some 650 spectators « among which around thirty Israelites ». At the end of the performance about 15 actors returned to the stage, brandishing a saber, and sang an Egyptian nationalist song in Arabic which proclaimed that Egypt had gained independence through its arms and wished all Muslims to follow its example.

The Intendant specifies that the troupe will perform on 20 and 21 in Philippeville and return to Bône on 22 and 23 November.

A newspaper clipping with an advertisement on the performance is attached to the report.
