Description

The police report from Ain Beida dated December 17, 1936, bearing a « Confidential » stamp. The second report is from Constantine (date unreadable). They are addressed to the Prefect of Constantine and mention theatrical performances bringing several hundred indigenous spectators. The play in Ain Beida « without any political allusion » is a translation of « For the Crown », a drama by François Coppée; a summary of the program is attached to the report. The one in Constantine is performed by an artistic troupe from Algiers and the report emphasizes its comic character.
