Description

This report provides an overview of December 1942 on the political activity of elected Muslim officials, reformist ulama, the Algerian People’s Party, etc. We can also read the information on the youth of the Algerian Muslim Congress, the action of the European parties on the Natives, the native workers, the economic question, etc.

The report notes an apprehension of a “return to power of the Jews.” A sudden outbreak of Jewish claims follows the Anglo-American landing. But the American authorities came to North Africa only to wage war.

Several Jewish notables (Aboulker, Loufrani, Elie Gozlan) continued their approaches to Muslim leaders of all parties to build a “Common Front of Claim”.

This report contains an important and recapitulative annex, written by a notable Israelite of Algiers, on the racist measures carried out by the public authorities against the Jews of Algeria.
