Description

This report gives an overview of the month of January 1944. It contains information on the economic situation, military affairs, the course of the war, the situation of indigenous Muslims, etc.

At the beginning of December, in the department of Constantine, “a committee for racial rapprochement” was to be created by Mr. Besson, President of the fighting France of Souk-Ahras, with the support of Mr. Bernard Lecache. Muslim and Israelite figures were to be approached on this subject, but the project has not yet come to fruition.

Some Jewish leaders remain cautious with regard to Muslims, some, like Doctor Loufrani, receive French and Muslim personalities to give the history of the indigenous question and approve the action of Muslim militants helped by the Jews.

There is radio propaganda from the Axis and enemy-occupied territories regarding the betrayal of Arabs by England for the benefit of the Jews of Palestine.
