The Jews have regained their status as French citizens. “Only a few intellectuals are annoyed to see the Jews so easily regain their lost freedoms.” The press release specified: “the measure taken leaves the future freedom of decision of the French public authorities which will have to fix definitively not only the status of the Algerian Israelites, but that of the other categories of the Algerian population”.
