Description
This report describes an overview of the main events during August 1937. It includes ideological and political trends, the state of mind of population, the repercussions of Global events, and propaganda. The Jewish population is worried by the declarations and the attitude of Sheikh Benbadis, concerning the plan to partition Palestine and the position taken by the Party of the Algerian People (PPA). They are also worried about Lellouche’s candidacy about the Violette project. His re-election could upset the natives of the Radical Socialist Party in which he is registered. Many small Jewish traders fear a boycott by the natives.
