Rapport sur la situation politique et économique de la commune mixte d’Azeffoun, le 17 juillet 1940
Description
This report describes the good political situation in the commune mixte of Azeffoun. It quotes the bulletin “indigenous activity in the department of Algiers” and asks the question of whether the weekly disputes and the proceedings filed in the district courts are not declining. Most of the colonial workers who returned from France didn’t receive the wages they were owed. They find correct the way of acting of the German troops in particular in Lyon. From an economic point of view, the sirocco has damaged several plantations. There are sufficient essential products, except soap.
Commune mixte in French colonial period is a neighborhood managed by civil servants French, Arab (indigenous) and Jews.
