Description

This report mentions several facts in certain douars (especially in Tamokra) and quotes extracts from letters or postcards sealed with swastikas, sent by the prisoners to their families, to describe their situation and claim food packages. Some describe the difficult situation (“black misery”, “closed factories”) in Paris, others describe the “very correct attitude of the Germans”. From an economic point of view, the situation is steady.

Commune mixte in French colonial period is a neighborhood managed by civil servants French, Arab (indigenous) and Jews.

The document can be consulted at the documentation center, Institut Ben-Zvi. Appointment requiered.
