Rapport au sujet d’une réunion de notables israélites, Constantine, 7 novembre 1941
Description
Several Jewish notables met at the old courthouse, under the chairmanship of Mr. André Bakouche, president of the Consistory, and Mr. Joseph Attali and Maurice Toubiana. It was decided that a subscription for the benefit of the Secours National would be opened in the Jewish colony. This report also indicates that the surveillance carried out in cinemas has shown that the showing of current affairs films of an anti-Semitic nature has not provoked any demonstrations on the part of Jewish spectators. But the director of the Coliseum cinema, the hall with the strongest Jewish clientele, has seen a 20% drop in revenue.
