Description

The newspaper “La Dépêche de Fes” (March 11, 1938), which appears every week in French, has the title: “Les Crimes du Fascisme au Maroc”. This is a general critique of German and Italian fascism and the indirect proximity between them and Moroccan nationalism. The journal is made up of several parts. The first is a preface (October 10, 1937) by editor-in-chief Mehdi Lemniai, which warns Moroccan citizens against the dangers of fascism. Then there are the comments of the editor of the newspaper F. Debare, on the dangers of fascism in Morocco. Then, the response of Omar Abdeljalil, a Moroccan nationalist who responds to the director of the newspaper. Finally, the editor summarizes the correspondence between the director of the newspaper and Abdeljalil, and calls for union between the French and Moroccan Democrats. Part of the diary is written in French and another in Arabic.
