Seven pages of minutes from the British Consulate General in Tunis to the [Nationality and] Treaty Department, regarding past and current correspondence about Jewish marriages and the issuing of certificates of no impediment and “certificats de coutume” for Jewish marriages occurring in Tunisia. Discussion of when these are required, how they intersect with British citizens (with differences according to gender and domicile, due primarily to issues of legal polygamy). Mentions documents going back to 1929. Mention is made of the case of an Algerian Jewish woman who wished to marry a British Jewish man in or before 1937.

Several signatories, difficult to make out. One might be [G] W Guttberg or Guterberg (possibly no R before the second G). Another appears to end in avallet, with a first letter or two letters which are difficult to identify.
