Description

This report gives an overview of April 1947 on political activity in Constantine and on the many external events which interest Muslim circles.

The report mentions the various events taking place in Palestine, in particular the terrorist acts of the “Stern” group, the ship “Molodeth” carrying illegal immigrants arrives in Haifa, a fight breaks out between the immigrants and a group of English sailors. Similar incidents occur with the arrival of the ship “Theodore Herzl”.  The President of the Executive of the Jewish Agency declares before the Jewish National Council that the internal and external situation of Palestine is worsening. The Jewish Agency asks the UN (United Nations) to propose a solution to the Palestinian problem and summarizes the Zionist demands: the creation of a Jewish state, the conclusion of a Judeo-Arab agreement. The British government is asking for the support of the French government in order to fight illegal Jewish immigration.
