This report provides an overview of January 1942 on the political activity of elected Muslim officials, reformist ulama, the Algerian People’s Party, etc. We can also read the information on the youth of the Algerian Muslim Congress, the action of the European parties on the Natives, the native workers, the economic question, etc.
33 Algerian Jews are referred to the State Court for illegal speculation and coalition. They were shipped to France to be tried in Lyon.
Significant money collections were made among the Jews of the department, in order to ensure treatment for dismissed Jewish officials and to allow the creation of schools for Jewish children excluded from French schools. Law of December 31, 1941, precisely set the conditions for the organization of private Jewish education.
