Rapport hebdomadaire sur la situation politique et économique de la commune mixte de M’Sila, le 7 août 1940
Description
This report mentions the “cruel setbacks of France and the military power of Germany”, which impress the natives who are returned from France. They believe “in the invincibility of Germany and in her victory against England”. But they don’t show pro-German feelings. The economic state of the populations promises to be hard. The local administration takes care of supplies.
Commune mixte in French colonial period is a neighborhood managed by civil servants French, Arab (indigenous) and Jews.
